Rebuilding Lives and Livelihood CSHD was initiated in the year 2000 with a vision to ensure sustainable human development for the children in difficult circumstances. The organization began its activities in rural areas of Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu focusing on strengthening schools there by preventing dropouts and child labour. Later it extended its activities to Bonded Labourers in Bricklings and in Rice Mills in Thiruvalur Districts. The organization has been involved in rescue of bonded child labourers in Chennai and other districts in Tamil Nadu who were trafficked for labour. CSHD provides developmental support in resource mobilization to the Corporation Schools in North Chennai. Further the organisation coordinates through networking with various networks at regional and national levels. CSHD played and active role in fact-finding missions in human right violations and child abuse incidences through the networks. CSHD responds to natural calamities by providing relief and rehabilitation.
